Summer Recess begins in Sacramento

Sacramento will be relatively quiet over the next four weeks.  From now until August 12th, California’s Legislators will be conducting their work in their district offices, leaving the Capitol halls more empty than usual.  However, work will still be done, as both capitol staff and the capitol community prepare for the return of Legislators, and for committee hearings to resume.  The Legislature only has six weeks after their return to send all legislation to the Governor for his consideration.

ACHD’s Advocacy Team will utilize the summer recess to prepare for the final stretch of the Legislative Session.  From updating our letters, communicating with capitol staff regarding legislative measures and meeting coalition members, we will keep a close eye on things as we near the end of the Legislative Session.

As always, you can read about the measures we are tracking here.

During the summer recess ACHD will be featuring a new guest blogger every Friday.  Look for blog posts written by Healthcare District representatives sharing a little bit about themselves and the innovative happenings in their Districts across California.  If you’d like to be a guest blogger please contact the Advocacy Team.
