For the second year in a row, Palomar Health is ranked among top 20% of health systems of its size in U.S., according to the 15 Top Health Systems Study 2017 by Truven Health Analytics published in Modern Healthcare magazine.
In addition to selecting the top 15 health systems each year, Truven divides all health systems it measures into quintiles by the size of the system—Palomar Health is among small health systems—and is rated in the top quintile—top 20 percent— of systems in its category.
The Truven study is “uniquely focused on measuring the impact of managerial excellence” and includes “top performing health systems.” The study measures mortality, complications, readmission rates, ED wait times, length of stay, and Medicare spending per beneficiary.
