Former interim director takes the reigns at Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District
Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District named its first permanent chief executive officer after 16 months, three interim people and a bumpy ride.
The healthcare district's board named its interim CEO Eugene Suksi to the spot permanently at its Jan. 21 special board meeting. Suksi took the reigns in July 2014 after previous interim CEO Evan Rayner left to take a position at Madera Community Hospital in Madera.
Suksi said he was pleased to drop the interim title.
"I think in my time here I've gotten a good sense of the community and the district," Suksi said. "There is still some work to be done but obviously I like the idea of being here on a long term basis and contributing to bringing a hospital online."
While he said he hasn't held back on his overall goals for the district, there have been some things he's waited on until the hiring decision was final.
