Marin General Hospital, the county’s largest hospital, is changing its name to the MarinHealth Medical Center.
Several other components will operate under the new MarinHealth name as well: Marin General Hospital Foundation, a fundraising organization for the hospital; Prima Medical Foundation, which works in roundabout fashion to recruit physicians that will be loyal to Marin General and Marin Healthcare District Health Centers.
Marin General Hospital, which is in Greenbrae, is owned and overseen by the Marin Healthcare District.
Lee Domanico, CEO of both Marin General Hospital and the Marin Healthcare District, said that when Marin General Hospital returned to district control in 2010, after being managed by Sutter Health for over a decade, it was a single entity.
