Fallbrook Regional Health District votes to sell former hospital for $4.5M

The Fallbrook Regional Health District board voted unanimously to sell the former Fallbrook Hospital at 624 E. Elder Street for $4.5 million to Crestwood Behavioral Health Inc. during its regular board meeting on May 10.

The vote followed the second of two consecutive town halls where residents were invited to share feedback with the district board on the sale of the public property. The roughly 25 residents in attendance heard a lengthy presentation from Crestwood Behavioral Health Inc., which submitted a bid through real estate consultants Cushman & Wakefield.

The 100-bed facility will bring 108 full-time permanent positions and another 10 part-time positions in addition to the immediate construction jobs. Crestwood Behavioral Health Inc. has committed at least $2 million for the construction project, though company representatives said it could cost the company up to $4 million.
