The Association of California Healthcare Districts (ACHD) 63rd Annual Meeting took place on May 6-8, 2015, in Monterey, California. This year’s event, titled “Creating the Healthcare District of the Future,” had a record 117 attendees from Healthcare District Trustees and Executives.
This year’s Annual Meeting focused on the relationship between technology and health care. Attendees heard from a variety of health care technology experts including: Gyre Renwick - West Coast Head of Industry for Health Team Google, Joseph Flesh - President of Purple Binder, David Sayen – San Francisco Regional Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and Don Hufford - Chief Executive Officer of Western Health Advantage. Attendees also experienced presentations from ACHD’s Advocacy Team: Amber King, ACHD Senior Legislative Advocate as well as Jean Hurst and Kelly Brooks of Hurst Brooks Espinosa. During the three days of informative and important educational sessions, attendees heard a panel of Healthcare Districts Trustees and Executives discuss their insights and experiences on community collaboration and governance.
An election of the General Membership was also held at Annual Meeting. Members voted to appoint Julia Miller, Chair, El Camino Healthcare District and Jerry Kaufman, Treasurer, Palomar Health to the Board of Directors. Additionally, Members approved a revision to the Bylaws to allow the Board of Directors to appoint Members to vacant seats rather than hold a general election to fill them. You may access the 2015-16 ACHD Board of Directors Roster here.
Collectively, ACHD’s 63rd Annual Meeting was a huge success. View pictures from the event here.
We look forward to seeing Trustees and Administrators at the 64th Annual Meeting taking place May 4-6, 2016, at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa.
