November 4, 2014, is voting day for California’s General Elections. Polls will be open from 7:00am-8:00pm, giving all voters an opportunity to be heard. ACHD encourages District Board Members, staff and your constituents to get out and vote on Tuesday. Absentee voters can use polling places to drop off their ballots on November 4.
ACHD and ALPHA Fund formally oppose two propositions on the November 4th ballot. Be sure to join ACHD and ALPHA Fund and vote “No” on these important measures.
Proposition 45 will give the state’s Insurance Commissioner the power to reject or change health care rate increases. This measure duplicates existing bureaucracy and regulation with a new program, creating costly confusion and overlap with other state and federal laws and regulations. It also may interfere with health care treatment options.
Proposition 46 will increase health care costs by quadrupling the MICRA limit on medical malpractice awards in California. It may jeopardize people’s ability to see their trusted health care providers and it threatens the privacy of personal prescription drug information by requiring a massive expansion of the use of a personal prescription drug database.
Voting is an expression of commitment to our country. Let’s do our part to make sure that we get out and vote on November 4, 2014!
